麦哲伦阶梯光栅(MagE)光谱仪是用于麦哲伦克莱望远镜的单目标光学阶梯光栅光谱仪。MagE设计为在蓝光波段具有高通量;包括望远镜在内,峰值通量在5600埃处为22%。波长覆盖范围包括整个光学窗口(3100埃-1微米)。对于1英寸狭缝,光谱分辨率约为R=4100。MagE是一个非常简单的光谱仪,仅有四个活动部件、棱镜交叉色散和真空施密特相机。该仪器于2007年11月首次观测到光,现已常规进行科学观测。
