哈勃深场椭圆星系的 Kormendy 关系

摘要
我们对哈勃深场（HDF）中一组椭圆星系进行详细的面 brightness-有效半径（surface_brightness-effective_radius）面积光度测量。经过适当的 K+E 校正后，这些椭圆星系在该平面上遵循一条“参考帧”Kormendy 关系。这一证据与 Steidel 等人 (1996) 收集的动力学信息相吻合，表明这些星系即便在 z ~ 2-3 的红移处，也处于基本平面（Fundamental Plane）中，处于virial平衡状态。在相同的红移范围内，观察到一种统计学上显著的大型星系缺乏现象——即具有 log r_e(kpc) > 0.2 的星系数量不足。
