KATRIN 超导磁体:概述与首批性能结果

KATRIN 实验旨在以史无前例的亚 eV 灵敏度从氚 β 衰变确定有效电子反中微子质量。所设计的强磁场最高达 6~T,在 191~Tcm2^2 的磁通量内将 β\beta 电子从源绝热导引至探测器。一串十个单螺线管磁体及两个较大的超导磁体系统已被设计、建造并安装在 70 米长的 KATRIN 束线上。磁通量的束流直径根据沿束线的磁通密度从 0.064~m 到 9~m 变化。两个输运与氚抽运段装配有曲折束管,以避免气态氚分子向下一束流段的直接“视线”分子束流效应。精细的束流对准已通过电子源成功交叉检验。此外,开发了磁体安全系统以保护复杂的磁体系统免受线圈失超或其他系统故障影响。磁体安全系统的主要功能已通过两个大型磁体系统成功测试。整套磁体链在首次使用放射性氪气的测试测量中以设计磁场的 70%\% 运行了数周。源磁体的磁场稳定性在设计磁场的 70%\% 下被证明优于每月 0.01%\%。本文给出 KATRIN 超导磁体的概述并报道磁体的首批性能结果。
