詹姆斯·韦伯空间望远镜(JWST)早期释放观测(EROs)是一组公共科普产品,用于标志 JWST 调试结束与科学运行开始。这些产品俗称“韦伯首批图像与光谱”,旨在向全球公众展示 JWST 已准备好开展科学观测,并能够产出引人瞩目的成果。该套装于 2022 年 7 月 12 日发布,包含星系团 SMACS~J0723.3-7327 与遥远引力透镜星系、相互作用星系群 Stephan's Quintet、Carina 恒星形成复合体中的 NGC 3324、南环行星状星云 NGC 3132,以及凌星热木星 WASP 96b 的图像与光谱。本文描述了支撑这些彩色科普产品的 ERO 技术设计、观测及科学数据处理。
