摘要
我们在国际脉冲星计时阵列(一个综合北美、欧洲和澳大利亚长达十年脉冲星计时观测的全球化合作项目)的第二次数据发布中搜寻各向同性随机引力波背景。在我们针对形式为 的幂律应变谱的参考搜寻中,利用阵列中脉冲星之间的自相关与互相关信息,我们发现了一个谱形相似的低频随机过程的强证据,其振幅为 、谱指数为 ,其中不确定性表示 95% 可信区间。对于 (正如由旋近超大质量黑洞双星群体所预期的那样),恢复出的振幅为 。然而,并未发现表明引力波起源的 Hellings-Downs 相关性的显著证据。我们还以一致的方式分析了各单个脉冲星计时阵列的组成数据,并清楚地表明合并后的国际数据集具有更高的灵敏度。此外,我们证明该合并数据集产生了与近期单个阵列数据集相当的约束,尽管后者拥有比该合并组成部分更多的数据。未来的国际数据发布将提升对引力波辐射的灵敏度,并显著提高探测概率。
