FAIR 未来 PANDA 实验的关键组件是一个固定靶探测器,用于反质子与质子靶在最高 15 GeV/c 束流动量下的碰撞,旨在解决强子物理领域大量开放问题。为保证在 至 极角范围内对带电强子具有优异的粒子鉴别(PID)能力,为 PANDA 靶谱仪的向前端盖研制了一种称为端盖 Disc DIRC (EDD) 的新型切伦科夫探测器。通过对 与 在粒子动量达 4 GeV/c 时实现至少 3 倍标准偏差(s.d.)分离所需的分离能力,经模拟研究确定,并在 CERN 与 DESY 的多次束流测试活动中得到验证。
