Hobby-Eberly 望远镜暗能量实验 (HETDEX) 巡天设计、数据处理与探测

摘要

我们描述了 Hobby-Eberly 望远镜暗能量实验(HETDEX)的巡天设计、定标、调试与发射线探测算法。HETDEX 的目标是在 540 deg^2 面积内(共动体积 10.9 Gpc^3)测量 1.88<z<3.52 之间超过一百万个 Lyα\alpha 发射星系的红移。该巡天不涉及目标预选,而是通过分布于望远镜焦平面的一组宽场积分视场单元进行光谱巡天来完成 HETDEX 测量。该巡天测量哈勃膨胀参数与角直径距离,最终预期精度优于 1%。我们详述了该项目的观测策略、数据处理流水线、源探测与星表生成,并给出了在 COSMOS、Extended Groth Strip 和 GOODS-N 场中进行科学验证的初步结果。我们证明我们的数据在通量、天体测量精度、流量极限和天体探测方面达到所需指标,最终产物为发射线源星表、其天体分类与流量定标光谱。
