HETDEX 仪器装置:霍比-埃伯利望远镜广视场升级与 VIRUS

霍比-埃伯利望远镜(HET)暗能量实验(HETDEX)正在对 540 平方度天空进行盲广视场低分辨率光谱巡天,以识别并推导红移 1.9 < z < 3.5 范围内一百万个莱曼-alpha 发射星系(LAE)的红移。最终目标是在此时期测量宇宙膨胀速率,以严格约束宇宙学参数及暗能量的本质。一项历时多年的 HET 广视场升级(WFU)于 2016 年完成,其通过更换光学改正镜、跟踪器与焦面仪器组件,并开发新的望远镜控制系统,将视场大幅增至直径 22 角分、光瞳增至 10 米。升级后的新型广视场 HET 现馈送可见光积分场可复制单元光谱仪(VIRUS)、新型低分辨率积分场光谱仪(LRS2)以及宜居带行星搜寻者(HPF,一台精密近红外视向速度光谱仪)。VIRUS 由 156 台相同光谱仪组成,由排布于升级后 HET 焦面的 78 个积分场单元中近 35,000 根光纤馈光。VIRUS 在 3500–5500 埃波段以分辨本领 R~800 工作。VIRUS 是大规模复制应用于光学天文仪器以实现极大面积天空光谱巡天的首例。本文给出了从 HETDEX 科学需求派生而来的 HET WFU 与 VIRUS 技术细节,以及该重大望远镜升级与 HETDEX 创新仪器套件在调试中的经验。
