引力透镜 J1131-1231——如何避免错失良机

到目前为止，透镜 J1131-1231 仅在光学和 X 射线波段被研究过。由于位置不正确和档案问题，射电波段的探测差点被错过。与仅使用目录或图像不同，对 NVSS uv 数据的直接分析提供了足够的探测证据，从而证明了进一步的射电研究是合理的。该系统随后在 e-VLBI 模式下用 MERLIN 和 EVN 进行了观测。尽管 MERLIN 似乎显示了透镜化的恒星形成区和致密核，但对 EVN 数据的初步分析仅显示透镜本身有一个 AGN，而没有透镜化的核。额外的 VLA 观测将很快进行。
