距今不到两年，CERN的LHC将开始以质子运行，随后以多重TeV能区的重离子运行。凭借其独特的物理潜力和强大的、互补的探测器阵容，LHC将为欧洲乃至全球核物理界提供一个前沿设施，以研究极端条件下的核物质，这一能力将延续至下一个十年。
