首例超紧致洛希瓣充满的热亚矮星双星

摘要

我们报告发现首例短周期双星,其中一颗热亚矮星(sdOB)充满其洛希瓣并开始向伴星转移质量。该天体作为名为Zwicky Transient Facility的银道面专用高节奏巡天的一部分被发现,其周期Porb=39.3401(1)P_{\rm orb}=39.3401(1) min,使其成为目前已知最紧致的热亚矮星双星。光谱观测与一颗有效温度Teff=42,400±300T_{\rm eff}=42,400\pm300 K、表面重力log(g)=5.77±0.05\log(g)=5.77\pm0.05的中等He-sdOB星一致。一条高信噪比GTC+HiPERCAM光变曲线主要由sdOB星的椭球形变以及吸积盘对sdOB的掩食主导。我们推断其为一颗低质量热亚矮星供体,质量MsdOB=0.337±0.015M_{\rm sdOB}=0.337\pm0.015 M_\odot,以及一颗白矮星吸积体,质量MWD=0.545±0.020M_{\rm WD}=0.545\pm0.020 M_\odot。理论双星建模表明,该热亚矮星形成于公共包层阶段,当时一颗2.52.82.5-2.8 M_\odot的星在穿越赫茨普龙空隙时失去其包层。为匹配其当前PorbP_{\rm orb}TeffT_{\rm eff}log(g)\log(g)与质量,我们估计公共包层后周期约为Porb150P_{\rm orb}\approx150 min,并发现sdOB星当前正经历氢壳层燃烧。我们估计该热亚矮星将变成具有约0.10.1 M_\odot厚氦层的白矮星,并在约1717 Myr后与它的碳/氧白矮星伴星并合,并很可能作为热核超新星爆发或形成一颗R CrB星。
