我综述了近期星际形成历史确定的最新进展及其在结构形成理解中的意义。我强调了尘埃在高红移宇宙中重新加工的重要性，特别是从红外和亚毫米数据中得出的结论。这要求我们进行全波段观测并使用合适的建模工具。我总结了这些模型的基本要求以及迄今为止已发表模型的满足程度。
