超级新星 1998aq 位于 NGC3982 中的距离测量

我们利用在哈勃太空站观测的归档多时段数据中发现的32颗星际棉棒，推导了NGC3982——即类型Ia超级新星SN1998aq的宿主 galaxy——的距离。采用最新的大型棉棒云星际棉棒周期-光度关系及其绝对零点，我们测得NGC3982的距离为20.5+/-0.8(r)+/-1.7(s)兆米，包含随机误差(r)和系统误差(s)，且忽略星际棉棒周期-光度关系中金属丰度的依赖性。虽然尚未发表的光度曲线光度测量数据，却预示着SN1998aq将成为类型Ia超级新星衰减率-光度关系中最重要的校准器之一。
