钱德拉船底座复合体计划:解密船底座弥漫 X 射线辐射之谜

摘要

我们展示了由钱德拉 X 射线天文台高级 CCD 成像光谱仪相机拍摄的船底座大星云中 1.42 平方度的弥漫 X 射线辐射马赛克图。从视场中去除超过 14,000 个 X 射线点源后,我们对剩余的未分辨辐射进行平滑处理,将其镶嵌成具有相似表亮度的区块,并对这些镶嵌区块进行 X 射线光谱拟合,以推断 X 射线辐射等离子体的内禀性质。通过对微弱已分辨点源进行建模,我们估计了未分辨点源对延伸 X 射线辐射的贡献,并表明船底座绝大部分未分辨 X 射线辐射是真正的弥漫辐射。X 射线光谱拟合中线状的相关残差表明,在船底座炽热稀薄等离子体与其众多冷中性柱状体、脊和团块之间的界面处,电荷交换产生了大量的 X 射线辐射。
