CERN n TOF 设施 NEAR 站用于天体物理及相关应用的中子活化测量

摘要

在 CERN n TOF 装置上最近新建了一个实验区,即 NEAR 站,距散裂靶仅 1.5 m。该新区域以极高通量的中子束为特征,旨在进行对天体物理及多种应用有意义的活化测量。中子束通过靶屏蔽墙上的孔从散裂靶传输至 NEAR 站,孔内插入了准直器。该新区域配有 γ 射线能谱实验室 GEAR 站,装备高效率 HPGe 探测器,用于测量在 NEAR 站辐照样品后产生的活度。为产生不同热中子能量下麦克斯韦形状的中子束(测量天体物理感兴趣的麦克斯韦平均截面所必需),计划使用慢化剂/滤波器组件。同时还在研究一种新的快循环活化技术,用于测量生成极短半衰期同位素的核反应。
