当系统经历共有包层演化时，紧密双星性可以在行星状星云(PNe)的成形中发挥重要作用。我们报道了在PN双中心星中两个最短轨道周期的探测。它们是Hen 2-428（一个双极PN）和V458 Vul（一颗被轻微双极行星状星云包围的新近新星）。讨论了这些系统的中心星、其星云的性质以及它们可能的最终命运。
