早型星系簇中星系的年龄：观察视角

摘要
近期发表的关于中间红移下椭圆星系（S0型）演化的研究结果存在矛盾。对所用方法进行深入分析表明，若要深入了解形态类型的演化，必须：（1）使用定量的形态类型；（2）在衡量S0型星系演化的量中传播形态误差；（3）在高和低红移时采用相同的形态类别，并测试其与标准类型的对应性。一些已发表的分析至少未满足上述三个条件之一，从而削弱了关于中间红移星系簇中S0型星系年龄偏年轻的论点。
