新型计算研究基础设施的可持续运行

摘要
新型计算系统是 emerging research topic，旨在构建下一代计算平台。为了使这些系统蓬勃发展，它们需要作为 research infrastructure 提供，以便大型社区接受和使用。以神经形态 BrainScaleS-2 system 为例，我们展示了从实验室 setup 到可持续、可公开获取平台的转变。它嵌入 purpose-built institute，紧密地将 conventional cluster 与 novel compute hardware 耦合。network infrastructure为robust operation优化，即使单个设备出现意外行为也能正常运行。系统本身封装在 19英寸 compatible units 中，以便于维护和扩展。我们使用 modern CI/CD technique运行该平台，并通过 automated system monitoring 持续断言其健康状况。最后，我们分享在十年来 operate analog neuromorphic system 作为 public research platform的经验教训。
