摘要
2018 年，旨在详细研究 B 介子的 Belle II 实验在日本 KEK 的 SuperKEKB 正负电子对撞机上开始运行。此前是上几代 B 工厂长期且相当成功的工作，包括作为其前身的 Belle 实验。该实验独一无二，世界上没有类似或竞争的装置。其针对的问题谱相当广泛：从含重夸克的强子态研究到精确测量以及超越标准模型的新物理搜寻。本综述描述 Belle II 实验的特点、其雄心目标与具体任务、预期工作成果以及与其成功完成相关的期望。
