在2012年气球载望远镜BLASTPol的飞行期间,获得了Vela C分子云在250、350和500um处的偏振图。这些测量结果与来自Planck的850um数据结合使用,以研究该云团的偏振分数的亚毫米波谱。该光谱相对平坦,并未像先前对其他分子云的测量所暗示的那样在\lambda ~350um处表现出明显的最小值。光谱形状并不强烈依赖于尘埃的辐射环境,这由来自Herschel数据的柱密度或尘埃温度量化。在Vela C中观测到的偏振比与多孔团块状分子云被星际辐射场均匀加热的模型一致。
