快速射电暴中的亚秒级周期性

摘要
快速射电暴(FRBs)是持续时间仅毫秒、可在数十亿光年外被观测到的射电波闪现。其起源天体与辐射机制仍是开放的天体物理问题。本文报道了对多成分 FRB 20191221A 的探测,并识别出其各成分间存在 216.8(1) ms 的周期性间隔,显著性达 6.5 个西格玛。该源脉冲轮廓由约 3 s 的长持续时间及九个以上成分构成,使其成为 FRB 族群中的异类。如此短的周期性为事件的中子星起源提供了有力证据。此外,我们的探测支持辐射源自中子星磁层,而非如某些模型所预言的位于距星体更远处辐射区的观点。
