HAWC 观测站对 IC 443 区域的研究

超新星残留物是 PeVatron(即能够加速射电离子至 PeV 能级的天体)的潜在来源类别之一。超新星爆炸后产生的冲击前沿是粒子加速的理想区域。IC 443 是一个在不同波段上被广泛研究过的超新星残留物。利用 HAWC 观测站的 2966 天伽马射线数据,我们研究 IC 443 的辐射,旨在寻找射电离子在 PeV 能级的加速特征。使用最大似然方法,我们发现该区域有一个位于 (=94.42, =22.35) 的点源,我们将其与 IC 443 关联。测量得到的谱为简单功率律,指数为 0.18,与之前的 TeV 观测结果一致。尽管我们无法确认 IC 443 是 hadronic PeVatron,但我们未发现谱在十几 TeV 能级存在截止迹象,谱可延伸至约 30 TeV。此外,我们还发现该区域的一个新扩展成分,其辐射描述为指数为 0.08 的简单功率律,我们将其称为 HAWC J0615+2213。虽然我们表明该新源可能是新的 TeV 星环,但将对该新源进行详细分析留待另一篇论文。
