Solar Orbiter调试阶段STIX X射线微耀斑观测

摘要

成像X射线光谱仪/望远镜(STIX)是Solar Orbiter上的硬X射线(HXR)仪器,旨在观测4-150 keV范围内广泛耀斑尺度的太阳耀斑。我们报道仪器调试阶段记录的首批STIX微耀斑观测,以探究STIX在其探测极限处的性能。这篇首发结果论文聚焦于2020年6月AR12765中发生的STIX微耀斑的时序与能谱演化,并将STIX测量与GOES/XRS、SDO/AIA及Hinode/XRT进行比较。对于所观测的GOES A与B级微耀斑,STIX最低能段的峰值时间位于耀斑脉冲相,远早于GOES峰值时间。此行为可解释为STIX对较高温度比GOES更敏感,或由于存在延伸至低能段的非热成分。除样本中最大耀斑外,因计数统计有限,该解释无定论。对此最大耀斑,低能峰值时间明确源于热辐射,而较高能段所见非热成分出现更早。这表明经典热解释也可能适用于大多数较小耀斑。结合EUV与SXR观测,STIX证实了早先等温假设有效性有限的结果。未来诊断工作应聚焦多波段研究,以推导宽温区的微分发射测度分布,从而准确描述太阳耀斑的能量学。调试观测确认STIX按设计工作。经验而言,STIX可探测小至GOES A级的耀斑。对于GOES B级以上的耀斑,可进行详细的能谱与成像分析。
