利用盖亚开展恒星考古:银河系白矮星族

摘要

盖亚 (Gaia) 将识别约 10^5 颗白矮星,其中大多数位于太阳邻域、距离数百秒差距内。对这一恒星遗迹样本开展地基光学后续光谱观测,对于释放其在理解恒星演化以及恒星与行星的银河系形成历史方面所蕴含的巨大科学潜力至关重要。
