暗能量巡天Y1数据集中的星-星系分类

摘要

我们利用暗能量巡天(DES)第一年的宽带测光数据,对不同的星-星系分类方法进行了比较。这是通过在有和无外部“真值”信息的情况下进行广泛的测试来完成的,这些测试可移植到其他类似数据集。我们针对受此系统效应影响最大的两类DES数据科学案例——大尺度结构与银河系研究——对分类器的性能进行了广泛评估。总体而言,尽管DES Y1宇宙学研究所用的默认形态分类器足以将恒星误分类带来的系统污染维持在较低水平,但利用来自外部数据集的多历元与红外信息可将污染降低至O(1%)水平。对于银河系研究,在给定流量极限下恒星样本可扩充约20%。本工作中使用的参考星表将在发表后公开。
