M82的SPIRE成像:星风与潮汐流中的冷尘埃

M82是赫歇尔近邻星系巡天中一类独特星暴超星系风星系的代表。此外,它与M81星群的相互作用已从其盘面剥离了相当一部分星际介质。SPIRE图像现在能够更好地表征盘外冷尘埃的远红外辐射,并描绘出比以往更完整的质量分布和能量图景。图像显示,远红外辐射在投影上与星暴星风以及一个巨大的晕区重合,其延展程度远超斯皮策望远镜观测到的多环芳烃波段辐射。一些复杂的子结构与最亮的多环芳烃纤维结构重合,另一些则与原子氢中观测到的潮汐流重合。我们从图像中减去了星暴和下方盘面的远红外辐射,得到了星风和晕区的空间分辨远红外颜色。我们根据尘埃质量、尘埃温度和全局物理条件对结果进行了解释。特别地,我们考察了尘埃物理性质随距星系中心和星风极轴距离的变化,并得出结论:超过三分之二的盘外尘埃是通过潮汐相互作用被剥离的,而非被星暴星风所裹挟。
