LBT 上的 SOUL:调试结果、科学与未来

摘要

大型双目望远镜(Large Binocular Telescope)上的 SOUL 系统可视为 ELT SCAO 系统的先驱,其结合了 EMCCD、金字塔波前传感器(Pyramid WFS)与自适应望远镜等关键技术。自2018年9月首个升级系统首光以来,历经新冠疫情与技术停摆,我们现在已有全部4套系统在天观测。在此,我们报告若干关键控制改进及调试期间表征的系统性能。该升级使我们能在亮端校正更多模式(500),并通过以 GRP_{RP}<17 的参考星提供 SR(K)>20% 来增加天空覆盖率,从而向使用 NGS 系统的河外目标开放。最后,我们回顾首批天体物理结果,并展望由 SOUL AO 校正供能的下一代仪器(SHARK-NIR、SHARK-Vis 与 iLocater)。
