Borexino 探测太阳中微子:结果与展望

摘要
Borexino 是一款独特的探测器,凭借其极低的放射性本底,能够测量能量在 1 MeV 左右或以下的太阳中微子通量。该探测器建于 Gran Sasso 国家实验室(LNGS)地下实验室,其目标是以前所未有的 5% 精度测量太阳Be 中微子通量。这一目标已成功实现,标志着实验第一阶段的结束。在第一阶段期间,还进行了多项其他重要的太阳中微子通量测量。最近,合作组成功开展了液体闪烁体再纯化活动,旨在降低亚 MeV 能区的主要污染物。借助新的放射纯度水平,Borexino 能够改进现有测量并挑战一系列新测量,包括:改进太阳和地球中微子通量的测量结果;测量 pp 和 CNO 太阳中微子通量;搜寻中微子的非标准相互作用;以及在 SOX 项目背景下,利用人工中微子源研究短基线中微子振荡(搜寻惰性中微子)。
