太阳惯性模:观测、识别与诊断前景

缓慢自转恒星的振荡长期以来被分为球模态与环模态。球模态包括日震学中常用的著名5分钟声学模。本文报道了对太阳环模态的观测,其恢复力为科里奥利力,周期量级为太阳自转周期。通过将观测结果与差自转球壳的法向模进行比较,我们得以识别许多观测到的模态。这些是高纬惯性模、临界纬惯性模以及赤道罗斯比模。在模型中,高纬与临界纬模态在对流区底部具有最大动能密度,且高纬模态因纬度熵梯度而呈斜压不稳定。作为惯性模日震学的首个应用,我们约束了深层对流区中的超绝热度与湍流黏性。
