摘要
惰性气体中的比例电致发光(EL)用于两相位探测器中以(在气相中)记录液体相中粒子散射所诱发的电离信号,服务于暗物质搜寻。其“标准”EL 机制被认为源于惰性气体准分子在真空紫外(VUV)区的发射。此外还存在两种替代机制,在可见光与近红外(NIR)区产生光。第一种源于电子在中性原子上的散射轫致辐射(“中性轫致辐射”,NBrS)。第二种在较高电场下负责 NIR 区的电子雪崩闪烁,源于激发原子态之间的跃迁。本工作中,我们首次展示了两相位氩探测器的两种光学读出替代技术,分别利用中性轫致辐射或雪崩闪烁的电致发光,工作于可见光与近红外区,并使用硅光电倍增管矩阵。我们测量了这些读出技术的幅度产额与位置分辨率,从而能够评估两相位氩探测器在暗物质搜寻中对电子反冲与核反冲的探测阈值。据我们所知,这是 NBrS 效应在探测科学中的首次实际应用。
