从某种意义上说,由许多原子构成的簇可被视为一个大原子。了解此类簇的介电特性后, 可用于评估簇之间或簇与表面之间的范德华 (dispersion) 相互作用形式。本文推导了这两种极端相反分离 regime 下的相互作用:完全滞后和非滞后。在完全滞后 regime (very large separation) 中,相互作用的大小仅由簇 (s) 的静态极化率决定。在非滞后 regime (small separation) 中,我们采用簇极化率的单一共振频率模型来推导相互作用系数的表达式。 presented for numerical examples to demonstrate that many-body screening of these interactions can be significant.
