GREAT08挑战赛结果:一项针对宇宙学透镜效应的图像分析竞赛

摘要

我们展示了GREAT08挑战赛的结果,这是一项从图像中推断弱引力透镜剪切畸变的盲分析挑战。主要目标是通过将问题呈现给剪切测量领域之外的研究人员来激发新思路。挑战赛启动时,GREAT08团队提出了六种方法,在为期6个月的竞赛中,另有五个小组提交了结果。参与者分析了3000万个模拟星系,这些星系具有不同的信噪比、点扩散函数椭圆率、星系大小和星系类型。大量的模拟首次使得剪切测量方法能够以适合当前计划中的未来宇宙剪切观测的精度水平进行评估。不同方法在模拟参数空间的不同部分表现良好,并在其中几个部分接近目标精度水平。挑战赛催生了许多新思路,包括重新审视来自不同星系的信息组合过程,这减少了对真实星系建模的依赖。未来的GREAT挑战赛将采用日益复杂的图像模拟,同时GREAT08模拟仍将作为剪切测量算法进一步发展的基准。
