伽马射线暴的快速光学观测

机器人光学瞬变搜索实验(ROTSE)旨在测量伽马射线暴(GRB)的同时及早期余辉光学发射。对六个定位误差为1平方度或更小的GRB进行光学对应体搜索,未发现任何探测。最早的极限灵敏度是在伽马射线上升后10.85秒(5秒曝光)达到m(ROTSE) > 13.1,最佳极限是在62分钟(897秒曝光)达到m(ROTSE) > 16.0。这些是在爆发后第一小时内对GRB光学对应体亮度所获得的最严格限制。考虑这些爆发以及GRB990123的伽马射线注量和峰值流量表明,光学流量与伽马射线发射之间不存在强的正相关。
