PoET:巴尔坎太阳 ESPRESSO 望远镜

摘要

探测并表征其他“地球”,围绕其他恒星,是当代天文学的宏大目标。然而,这一探索受到来自主机恒星的天体“噪声”的严峻挑战,这些噪声的特征会扭曲观测到的光谱。为了解决这一问题,我们正在建造一个专用设施——巴尔坎太阳 ESPRESSO 望远镜(PoET)。PoET 将收集太阳光线并导入 ESPRESSO 光谱仪,使我们能够将太阳作为代理星,明确识别和理解与太阳型恒星相关可变性来源的机制。
