π介子和Σ超子的极化率与辐射跃迁

摘要

费米实验室E781实验计划利用600 GeV的Σ超子和π介子束流以及虚光子靶,测量γ-Σ和γ-π介子相互作用。该实验将测量π介子的极化率和辐射跃迁。前者可以检验手征对称性的精确预言;后者对于a1(1260)π+γa_1(1260) \to \pi + \gamma过程,对于理解极化率至关重要。该实验还将测量Σ超子的极化率和辐射跃迁。极化率可以检验重子手征微扰理论的预言。到Σ*(1385)的辐射跃迁提供了s夸克磁矩的测量。文中给出了γ-π和γ-Σ相互作用的先前实验和理论结果,并描述了E781实验。
