DART撞击出现期内Didymos系统的测光观测

2022年9月26日,双小行星重定向测试(DART)航天器撞击了双星近地小行星(65803)Didymos的卫星Dimorphos。这通过将Dimorphos的轨道周期改变33分钟(Thomas等人,2023)证明了动能撞击器在行星防御中的有效性。测量周期变化在很大程度上依赖于一项协调的光变曲线测光活动,该活动旨在探测互事件(掩星与食)以直接探测卫星的轨道周期。在2022年7月至2023年2月的撞击出现期内,共有28台望远镜贡献了224条独立光变曲线。我们在此关注可分解的光变曲线,即那些可以从中提取互事件的曲线。我们描述了光变曲线分解的过程,并借此发布完整数据集以供未来分析。我们利用这些数据约束喷出物的撞击后演化。相对于模型的互事件测量深度表明,喷出物在撞击后约前1天内变得光学薄,随后以约25天的衰减时间 fading。系统的整体星等表明,撞击后约20天后喷出物不再贡献可测量的亮度增强。这种整体测光行为不能被HG测光模型很好地表示。HG1G2模型在很宽的相位角范围内很好地拟合了数据。最后,我们注意到至少到2023年3月都存在喷出物尾迹。其持续性意味着在DART撞击后数月内喷出物持续从系统中逃逸。
