滨松 VUV4 SiPM 探测液氩 scintillation 的性能

摘要

光信号探测对广泛的粒子探测器至关重要。特别地,高效探测真空紫外(VUV)光将为当前正在开发的一些新型探测器提供新机遇,但在技术上具挑战性。本文中,我们表征了滨松 VUV4 硅光电倍增管(SiPM)在不进行波长转换情况下探测 VUV 氩 scintillation 光的性能。利用定制的低温放大器设计,我们在液氩内部运行了两款 VUV4 SiPM 型号,并彻底检验了它们对液氩 scintillation 的直接灵敏度。除描述其低温性能外,我们在 4 V 过压下测得这两款 VUV4 型号在 128 nm 处的光子探测效率分别为 14.72.4+1.114.7^{+1.1}_{-2.4}% 和 17.23.0+1.617.2^{+1.6}_{-3.0}%,主要不确定度来自 SiPM 对 VUV 光的反射率。
