Orientifold：各时空维度的独特个性

摘要
我综述了近期在理解 IIA 与 IIB 型弦及 M 理论的 Z_2 orientifold 动力学方面的一些进展。总结了从 10 维到 1 维各时空维度中出现的有趣物理现象，以及它们与非微扰效应和 M 理论、F 理论的一些关联。重点强调的概念方面包括：(i) M 理论的 orientifold，(ii) 来自开弦的例外规范对称性，(iii) 膜与 orientifold 平面之间的某些相似性。还对 orientifold 模空间的不连通分支作了一些评论。
