LYSO 晶体与 SiPM 参数优化用于 CMS MIP 时间探测器

对于高亮度 (HL-LHC) 阶段,CMS 实验将包括一个新型 MIP 时间探测器 (MTD)。MTD 的 barrel 时间层旨在在 HL-LHC 开始时提供 30 ps 的粒子到达时间测量精度,随后在持续超过十年的极端辐射环境下逐渐恶化至 60 ps。本文提出了 BTL 模块原型机的时分辨率比较分析,这些原型机采用 LYSO:Ce 晶体条通过硅光倍增管 (SiPM) 读取。结果展示了不同制造和运行参数(如不同尺寸的 SiPM 单元(15、20、25 和 30 μm)、SiPM 制造商和晶体条厚度)下的时分辨率。我们研究了随辐射水平变化的时间分辨率,使用未辐射的 SiPM 以及曝露至 2×1014 neq/cm22\times 10^{14}~n_{eq}/cm^2 粒子流量的 SiPM。讨论决定模块时分辨率的关键参数,如 SiPM 参数(增益、光子探测效率、辐射诱导暗计数率)和晶体属性(光输出和尺寸)。这些结果指导了 MTD barrel 传感器配置的最终选择,并为未来在低或高辐射环境中设计大面积陷阱体基时探测器提供了独特的起点。
