用VERITAS在TeV能量下观测壳层型超新星遗迹仙后座A

我们报告了利用位于亚利桑那州的VERITAS立体成像大气切伦科夫望远镜阵列对壳层型超新星遗迹仙后座A在甚高能伽马射线波段的观测结果。这些观测的总曝光时间为22小时,累积于2007年9月至11月。与超新星遗迹仙后座A相关的伽马射线源在200 GeV以上被探测到,统计显著性为8.3个标准差。该伽马射线源的估计积分通量约为蟹状星云通量的3%。光子谱符合幂律dN/dE ~ E^(-Gamma),谱指数Gamma = 2.61 ± 0.24(统计)± 0.2(系统)。数据与点状源一致。我们提供了分析结果的详细描述,并讨论了可能导致观测到的伽马射线发射的物理机制。
