双奇异b重子Omega_b-的观测

摘要
我们报告在衰变道Omega_b- → J/psi Omega-（其中J/psi → μ+ μ-，Omega- → Λ K-）中观测到双奇异b重子Omega_b-，该过程发生在√s=1.96 TeV的p̄p碰撞中。利用费米实验室Tevatron对撞机上D0探测器收集的约1.3 fb⁻¹数据，我们在质量6.165 ± 0.010 (统计) ± 0.013 (系统) GeV处观测到17.8 ± 4.9 (统计) ± 0.8 (系统)个Omega_b-信号事例。观测到的信号显著性为5.4σ，对应其由背景涨落产生的概率为6.7 × 10⁻⁸。
