利用D0探测器观测单顶夸克产生

摘要
我们报告了D0合作组利用费米实验室Tevatron ppbar对撞机收集的2.3 fb^-1数据集对单顶夸克产生的观测。结合多种多变量技术将单顶夸克信号从本底中分离出来。测得的单顶夸克截面为3.94+-0.88 pb。在无信号情况下测量到该值或更高截面的概率为2.9*10^-7，对应信号存在的显著性为5.0个标准差。CKM矩阵元Vtb在95%置信水平下的下限为|Vtb|>0.78。对t道截面的单独测量结果为3.14 +0.94 -0.80 pb。
