手性拓扑半金属中最大陈数的观测与调控

摘要
拓扑半金属具有受称为陈数(C)的拓扑不变量保护的交叉能带简并。具有线性色散的能带交叉预期至多具有 |C|=4,这为这些材料中许多拓扑现象的强度设定了上限。本文表明手性晶体 PdGa 呈现多重复能带交叉,其恰好由四条表面费米弧连接,从而证明它们携带大小为 4 的最大陈数绝对值。通过比较两种对映体,我们观察到其费米弧速度的反转,这表明手性晶体的手性可用于调控其陈数的符号。
