用于确定|V_ud|的中子β衰变观测量测量精度正达到0.1%。本文回顾了该过程衰变速率的计算，讨论了其相关不确定性，并得到了精度在10^{-4}水平的表达式。我们的分析清楚地表明测量λ（轴矢/矢量耦合比）的必要性。中子β衰变的现状是，目前还无法从中给出一个单一的、自洽的|V_ud|值。我们还讨论了在|V_ud|-λ平面上，如果新物理对中子β衰变有贡献，其效应应存在的参数空间区域。
