金属度梯度与早型星系的混合形成场景

摘要
我们报告了对40个早型星系的Lick指数Mg2径向梯度。对于Grad(Mg2)与质量指标（如log(sigma)）的图中，点分布的下边界可能由主要通过单体坍缩形成的星系所构成。表明在更高质量处梯度较平缓的星系可能代表经历了重要合并事件的天体。因此，我们的结果支持混合形成场景。为消除可能的年龄效应，我们使用Mg2和Hbeta指数计算了金属度梯度（Grad[Z/H]），并采用[alpha/Fe]=0.3的单星系模型。结论仍然成立。
