MicroBooNE探测器中电离电子纵向扩散的测量

摘要

准确掌握电子输运性质对理解液氩时间投影室(LArTPC)所提供的信息至关重要。电离电子漂移寿命、由正离子积累引起的局部电场畸变以及电子扩散都会显著影响所测信号波形。本文给出了在273.9 V/cm标称电场强度下MicroBooNE中有效纵向电子扩散系数 DLD_L 的测量结果。历史上该测量多在LArTPC原型探测器中进行。这代表了在运行于中微子束流中的大型(85吨活性体积)LArTPC中的首次测量,也是用于该测量的最大数据集。利用由MicroBooNE宇宙射线标记系统标记的约 \sim70,000 条穿透式宇宙线缪子径迹样本,我们测得 DL=3.740.29+0.28D_L = 3.74^{+0.28}_{-0.29} cm2^2/s。
