摘要
固态器件如多级阶梯式雪崩光电二极管(APD)是光电倍增管的类比器件,被视为级联放大器。这些APD中内部噪声的主要来源来自其阶梯式碰撞电离的随机性。Campbell等研究组关于阶梯APD的近期文献报道了使用Capasso超额噪声因子公式对总超额噪声因子的理论估计。该公式基于Friis的级联网络总噪声因子公式。本文证明了Capasso公式在阶梯APD中的应用错误地将Friis总噪声因子公式中的功率增益视为增益。
