我们展示了利用亚毫米波阵列 (SMA) 对富碳 AGB 星 IRC+10216 进行的若干分子线的光谱偏振观测。我们探测并绘制了 CO 3-2、SiS 19-18 和 CS 7-6 谱线的线偏振。该偏振在距恒星约 450 AU 处产生，并相对于 Stokes I 发生蓝移。SiS 19-18 的偏振图样似乎与局部径向磁场构型一致。然而，CO 3-2 和 CS 7-6 谱线的偏振表明星周包层内存在整体复杂的磁场形态。本工作证明了利用光谱偏振观测对星周包层中的磁场进行断层成像的可行性。
