MAGIC望远镜对GRB080430余辉的观测

背景:伽马射线暴是发射从伽马射线到射电波段辐射的宇宙学源。在瞬时阶段(即高能辐射的初始爆发)和长持续时间余辉期间,人们已投入大量观测精力研究伽马射线暴。尽管在解释这些现象方面取得了许多成功,但关于其基本辐射过程、能量学和环境,仍存在几个关键的开放性问题。目的:独立于特定的伽马射线暴理论模型,GeV/TeV能段的谱被预测为极其简单,可以令人满意地用幂律建模,因此为探测河外背景光分布提供了非常有价值的工具。此外,在甚高能(即 \,GeV)处简单探测到某一成分,将解决关于各种可能辐射过程重要性的歧义,这些过程在较低能量下提供的场景几乎无法区分。方法:我们利用MAGIC望远镜在约80\,GeV以上能量对中等红移()的 \object{GRB\,080430} 的观测结果,评估了地基GeV/TeV望远镜进行晚余辉观测的前景。结果:我们获得了 \object{GRB\,080430} 甚高能辐射的上限为 F_{\rm 95%\,CL} = 5.5 \times 10^{-11}\,erg\,cm\,s,由于对低能余辉建模存在困难,该结果无法对该天体提出的理论场景给出进一步约束。尽管如此,我们的观测表明,只要在早期(即接近其余辉阶段开始时)进行观测,切伦科夫望远镜已经具备了探测中等红移()伽马射线暴GeV/TeV辐射所需的灵敏度。
