当然，局部星系群中的大型星系虽然都是盘状星系，但其恒星 Population 呈现出多样性。要更好地理解这些差异以及其背后的物理机制，就需要对旧 Population 进行更详细的研究。这对 GAIA 团队来说 presents a significant 挑战，但其科学回报同样也很 significant。
